I i Y
' 12 November 2002
. AGE-NC Project No 97-0343
transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample
' preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without added preservative After collection, the
samples were properly labeled, placed In a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody
I to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) a Department of Health Services-certified laboratory The
ground water samples were analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in
' accordance with EPA Methods 5030R/8015Cm and 3510C/8015C, respectively,
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl-tertiary butyl ether
' (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 5030R/8021B, and
• The fuel additives MTBE, di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl-tertiary butyl ether (ETBE),
' tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB) and
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 5030B/8260B
I3.0. FINDINGS
I • Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
07 August 2002, the contaminant impact to ground water was quantified from the laboratory
analytical data
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
At the time of the August 2002 sampling event, depths to ground water in wells MW4, MW-5 and
MW7 ranged from 56 57 feet to 57 51 feet below the well heads, ground water elevations ranged
from 3168 feet below mean sea level(MSL) in well MW4 to 31 85 feet below MSL in well MW7
(Table 1) Ground water elevations at the site decreased an average 2 2 feet since the second quarter
2002 monitoring event
Based on the elevation contours, the ground water flow direction was inferred to be flowing
I generally to the northwest at an average hydraulic gradient of 0 003 feet/feet Figure 3 illustrates the
contoured ground water elevations as measured on 07 August 2002
I3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
ITPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX and fuel additives were not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits
in the ground water samples collected from wells MW4, MW5 and MW7
Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc
