I
Draft Working Documents for OWS508 - 2 - 17 June 2003
NCTS Stockton
groundwater ranged from non-detect to 0.84 ug/1. Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX)
compounds were not detected in samples collected from the monitoring wells. Data from the monitoring
wells show that MTBE concentrations have remained consistent at approximately 1 ug/l.
Based on our review of the available analytical monitoring data, groundwater concentrations at the
Building 508 Site do not exceed water quality limits set forth to protect beneficial uses of waters of the
state. The estimation of contaminant mass submitted with the working documents indicates that a
majority of the residual petroleum contamination is limited to TPH-diesel sorbed in the shallow vadose
zone and that overall, the remaining contaminant concentrations pose no significant threat to water
quality.
We anticipate providing a closure letter for Site OWS508 once the additional technical working
documentation and responses to our October 2002 comments are incorporated into the Assessment
Report and the report is re-submitted as a final closure report.
