It is further requested that
any future computer data bases be compatible with Lotus
or Dbase.
Page 149, section 8.3:
The preliminary endangerment assessment describes a
scenario where down gradient domestic wells could be
affected by contamination emanating from NAVCOM. The
time necessary to determine the extent of a
contamination plume can be very lengthy. In order to
circumvent this lengthy process and determine if
domestic wells are contaminated, NAVCOM must develop
and implement a plan to monitor potentially affected
wells within thirty days of the receipt of this review.
A community well inventory is listed in Table 4.1 and
mapped on Plate 18. From this inventory the
preliminary endangerment assessment identifies five
wells assumed to be down gradient from Rough and Ready
Island. These five wells should be immediately
monitored for constituents found in the groundwater at
Rough and Ready Island. Additional effort to determine
if other wells within a 1 mile radius of Rough and
Ready Island are affected should be pursued.
JP:
JPNAVCOM.088
