Based on the review of recent geoprobe groundwater sampling results and discussion of
proposed monitoring well locations, we concur that three wells should be installed to further delineate
groundwater contamination at this site.
Three wells will be installed—one upgradient, one downgradient, and another in the suspected source
area. The well at the source area will have a dual-nest completion where a deeper zone will also be
installed in addition to the 30-foot zone. Constituents of concern include: TPH-gasoline, TPH-diesel,
SVOCs, BTEX and motor oil. Four quarters of samples will be taken to ensure that seasonal
fluctuations are monitored. The Navy should submit a Final Report, which includes an evaluation of the
compiled data and recommendations for remedial action, as applicable.
If you have any questions, please contact John Russell at 916-255-3066.
KIM A.
