. SIA No. 3 —Moisture Separator High-Level Shutoff Switch (HLS-201)
Water entrained in the vapor recovery stream will be collected in the Moisture Separator
(S-201) If the water level in this vessels approaches its capacity, this interlock (designated as
SAI No 3 on the PFD) will shut off the SVE Blower If this interlock is triggered, the SVE
Blower will shut down and will, in turn, shut down the rest of the operations The system will
remain off until the fluids are removed from the separator and the system is manually reset
SIA No. 4—SVE Blower High-Temperature Switch (TSH-201)
The exhaust stream from the SVE blower(C-201) will need to remain below 225°F to avoid
damage to the equipment If the exhaust temperature from C-201 exceeds the set point, this
interlock(designated as SAI No 4 on the PFD) will shut off the SVE Blower The system will
remain off until manually reset Upon reset the cause for the temperature excess will be
investigated
SIA No. 5—ICE Unit High-Temperature Switch (TSH-301)
The operating temperature of the ICE unit engine must remain within safe operating conditions
If the engine temperature exceeds a pre-set level, this interlock (designated as SAI No 5 on
. the PFD) will shut off the ICE Unit and the SVE System The SVE and vapor treatment
systems system will remain off until manually reset Upon reset the cause for the overheating
engine will be investigated
SIA No. 6--Low-Oil Switch (OSL-301)
The lubricating oil for the ICE unit engine must remain be maintained at sufficient levels for
safe operation of the unit If the engine oil gets below a pre-set level, this interlock(designated
as SAI No 6 on the PFD) will shut off the ICE Unit and the SVE System The SVE and vapor
treatment systems system will remain off until manually reset Upon reset, the remaining oil
will be drained from the unit and new lubricating oil will be utilized to fill the reservoir
Potential leaks will be thoroughly investigated
Important Note. The SVE System may operate without the AS System, but the AS System may not
operate without the SVE System Therefore, SAI 2 will shut down only the AS operations, but SAIs
3, 4, 5, and 6 will shut down both systems
The SAIs are presented on the PFD (Figure 13) Each SAI is represented with a diamond and has
a unique number designation Details of the supporting control equipment is presented on the P&ID
(Figure 14)
V-5
