CONTINGENCY PLAN
During startup of the remedial system, monitoring will be performed daily for three (3) days and
biweekly (every two weeks) thereafter, to confirm treatment effectiveness and maintain the proper
operation of the system The system will be optimized during this monitoring period to ensure it is
operating within design and effluent/emissions parameters If any portion of the system is found to
be ineffective following optimization, the client will be promptly notified The system will be shut
down if necessary Available field data and other factors will be examined and evaluated by the
• engineer to consider modifications Any proposed modifications to the remediation system will be
submitted to the client and SJV personnel for approval prior to implementation of any modifications
I. IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE
Implementation of the system will progress in three stages pre-installation, installation, and start-up
activities Pre-installation will involve well installation and obtaining the appropriate construction
permitting Installation will include equipment procurement, shipment, installation, piping, and
electrical connections (with pre-startup testing) Startup will include actual system startup and
equipment optimization for up to 5 days All aspects of the HASP will be followed during each
stage of the installation Before system start-up, the a System Review Checklist(SRC) checklist will
be completed and implemented A copy of the SRC will be included in the OMP manual
The procurement of the equipment will be initiated upon State approval of this RAP and is expected
to take 5 to 6 weeks The installation of the treatment system will commence within 3 to 4 weeks
prior to the expected receipt of the equipment The time required for the construction portion of the
system installation is estimated to be 3 to 4 weeks The total time required, from client approval to
system start-up, is anticipated to take approximately 12 to 14 weeks
V-S
