w <br /> s.fi <br /> WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc. <br /> ..':� Health and Safety <br /> Page: 2 <br /> 1.3 Personnel Protective Precautions <br /> During drilling/excavation of soils containing organic <br /> vapors and liquid contaminants, all personnel shall <br /> undertake the following precautions: <br /> 1.3.1 Skin/Clothing Protection <br /> - Disposable suits, boots, gloves or rubber boots <br /> and gloves (previously rinsed in detergent TSP) <br /> will be morn at all times. <br /> - Disposable plastic gloves for sampling changed <br /> after each sample). <br /> - Hard hats will be worn during drilling/excavation <br /> activities. <br /> - Disposable clothing will be properly disposed of <br /> at the completion of the job. <br /> 1.3.2 Respiratory/Eye Protection <br /> - During drilling/excavation activities, ambient air <br /> and soil vapor concentrations shall be <br /> continuously monitored by a Photo Ionization <br /> Detector and/or Draeger Tubes. These instruments <br /> �+* shall provide concentration of total organic <br /> vapors (ppn) in air being samples. <br /> - Site perimeter shall also be monitoring on 60 <br /> minute intervals, if organic vapors are <br /> encountered during drilling.
