8 August 2000 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 95-0143 <br /> Page 2 of 8 <br /> Each preserved sample was logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and <br /> transported to Curtis and Tompkins, Ltd , a California Department of Health Services (DHS)- <br /> certified laboratory Selected samples were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g), diesel(TPH--d) and motor oil <br /> (TPH-mo) by EPA Method 503018015M, <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020, and <br /> • Total lead by EPA Method 6010B <br /> Samples collected from soil probe boring 1613-7 were also analyzed by Curtis and Tompkins, Ltd <br /> for volatile organic compounds including MTBE by EPA Method 8260B <br /> 2 12 Grab Ground Water Sample Collection <br /> Grab ground water samples were also collected from the probe borings A temporary, pre-cleaned, <br /> one-inch outside diameter, 0 01 inch slotted well screen was placed into soil borings 16B-6 and 16B- <br /> 7to a depth of 15 feet bsg and 50 feet bsg,respectively After sample retrieval,the water sampler was <br /> . disassembled and cleaned Each ground water sample was extracted by lowering a modified Teflon <br /> bailer into the screen section of the temporary wells Samples were collected In to three laboratory- <br /> supplied, 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml hydrochloric acid (18%) as sample preservative The <br /> labeled vials were placed in a chilled container under ice and transported under chain-of-custody to <br /> Curtis and Tompkins, Ltd for analysis The samples were analyzed for <br /> • TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-mo by EPA Method 5030/8015M, <br /> • BTEX compounds by EPA Method 8021 B, <br /> • Volatile organic compounds including MTBE by EPA Method8260B, and <br /> • Total lead by EPA Method 6010B <br /> 2 1 3 Equipment Decontamination <br /> Prior to sample collection, Geoprobe soil sampling equipment was thoroughly rinsed with clean <br /> water after washing with a solution of Alconox Geoprobe rods were thoroughly cleaned prior to <br /> each soil probe boring advancement <br /> • <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
