At least 10 empty 55 -gallon hazardous waste/material drums at the east side of 1015 Channel <br />address, and possibly more throughout the facility, were not labelled with the date when they became <br />empty. Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material or waste shall be <br />marked with the date they were emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately <br />mark all such empty containers per this section if they have been on site less than one year of becoming <br />empty, and for empty containers stored longer manage them by either reuse, recycle, or disposal. <br />Submit evidence of correction to EHD by 10/09/2013. <br />605 & 701. Some of the hazardous waste containers cited on Violation Item #108 on Page 5 and 6 were <br />not labeled. Hazardous waste may be stored on site up to maximum of 180 days, and all hazardous <br />waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br />1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />2. name and address of generator <br />3. hazardous properties <br />4. physical state <br />5. composition (contents) <br />6. accumulation start date <br />Immediately label all hazardous waste containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the <br />required information. Since there is no accumulation start date, the hazardous waste containers are <br />considered to have been on site exceeding 180 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste <br />hauler to dispose of these hazardous waste containers under manifest and submit a copy of the <br />manifest to the EHD by 10/09/2013. <br />703. An emergency coordinator and modified contingency plan information is lacking. There must be at <br />least one emergency coordinator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and <br />the following information must be posted by a phone: the name and phone number of the emergency <br />coordinator; location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the <br />phone number of the fire department, unless the facility has a direct alarm. Immediately appoint an <br />emergency coordinator and post the required information by a phone. A form has been provided to you <br />during this inspection that can be used for this purpose.
