M N <br />3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES <br />Supervisor Responsibilities: <br />• Annually audit all records to ensure that the most current MSDS are on file, <br />containers are properly labeled, and employee training is conducted and <br />documented. <br />• Schedule and ensure the adequacy of the annual Hazard Communication <br />Training. <br />• Implement and monitor the HMIS labeling system on containers as needed. <br />• Ensure up-to-date records are maintained on training of all employees <br />required to handle hazardous materials. <br />• Contact the supplier verbally and in writing to secure a missing label or <br />MSDS and document the efforts. <br />Safety Team Leader Responsibilities: <br />Keep an up-to-date file of all Material Safety Data Sheets or appropriate <br />alternative. Maintain a list of all hazardous materials in an up-to-date <br />manner. <br />Review the content of all MSDS to ensure that all sections are complete, <br />including chemical and common names, hazardous chemical mixtures, <br />physical hazards, emergency and first aid procedures, etc. If there is no <br />relevant information for a particular section, it should be noted in writing <br />rather than left blank. Appendix A (MSDS Checklist) is a form that can be <br />used to facilitate this review. <br />• Periodically audit all containers of hazardous materials to ensure they have <br />labels that are prominently displayed and written in English, and that they <br />contain the same hazardous material identity (product or trade name) as <br />appears on the hazardous material "master list" and MSDS. <br />• Periodically review work areas for compliance with company policy. <br />• Make available to OSHA the Hazardous Chemical Safety Program and <br />MSDS, if requested. <br />• Maintain a written copy of the Hazardous Chemical Safety Program in the <br />front of the MSDS Booklet that is accessible to all employees. <br />4 <br />
