Employee Responsibilities: <br />• Obey established safety rules. <br />• Use personal protective equipment as required by company procedure. <br />• Inform your Supervisor and/or Safety Team Leader of: <br />�l Any symptoms of overexposure that may possibly be related to <br />hazardous materials. <br />Missing labels on containers or MSDS. <br />Malfunctioning safety equipment. <br />• Use appropriate labels on containers (don't remove labels). <br />• Use appropriate containers for hazardous materials. <br />• Know the location of emergency equipment, e.g., first aid supplies, <br />emergency eyewash, etc. <br />• Know your role in emergency procedures. <br />• Ask for training if you are unsure of a hazard. <br />The facility will maintain a list of all hazardous chemicals (as regulatory standards) <br />used in the facility. This list will be annually audited to ensure that all hazardous <br />chemicals are on the list. The Safety Team Leader will continually update the list as <br />necessary and make sure a copy of the list is the index for the MSDS book. The list <br />will provide the chemical "identity" name, manufacturer, and HMIS warnings. See <br />appendix F. <br />Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) <br />Material Safety Data Sheets are intended to outline the special precautions and <br />controls necessary for handling hazardous materials. One central record keeping <br />area for the Warehouse and Transportation will be used for 2 categories of MSDS, <br />products we supply to our customer and chemicals used in maintenance%ther of the <br />facility. In this way, everyone will know where to obtain MSDS information as <br />identified below. <br />The Fleet Maintenance shop will have a separate record book with MSDS used in <br />the shop area only. This covers the variety of chemicals used for maintenance and <br />repair of the equipment. <br />This procedure is intended to cover recordkeeping and filing of MSDS. <br />1) The Purchasing Department will contact each product supplier of hazardous <br />products and a MSDS for their products will be obtained and sent to our <br />
