REPRODUCED AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE, <br />2.8.1 Location of Underground Facilities: Verify the elevations of existing <br />piping, utilities, and any type of underground obstruction not indicated or <br />specified to be removed and indicated in locations to be traversed by piping, <br />ducts and other work to be installed. Verify elevations before new work is <br />laid, closer than the nearest manhole or other structure at which an <br />adjustment in grade could be made. For additional work required by reason of <br />conflict between the new and existing work, an adjustment in contract price <br />will be made in accordance with the clause of the Contract Clauses entitled <br />"Differing Site Conditions." <br />2.8.2 Station Permits: Obtain pursuant to paragraph of the General Para- <br />graphs", entitled, "Station Regulations". Permits are required for, but not <br />necessarily limited to, welding, digging and burning. Allow 7 calendar days <br />for processing of application. <br />2.8.3 Storm Protection: If a warning of gale force winds is issued, take <br />precautions to minimize danger to persons, and protect work and any nearby <br />Government property. Precautions shall include, but not be limited to, <br />closing openings, removing loose materials, tools, and equipment from exposed <br />locations, and removing or securing scaffolding and other temporary work. <br />Close openings in work if storms of lesser intensity pose a threat to the <br />work or any nearby Government property. <br />
