REPRODUCED AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE <br />SECTION 02050 <br />"100 [0 meeffi + I I <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 SUBMITTALS: Submit proposed demolition and removal procedures to the <br />Contracting Officer for approval before work"is started. Procedures shall <br />provide for coordination with other work in progress, a disconnection schedule <br />of utility services, a detailed description of methods and equipment to be <br />used for each operation and the sequence of operations. <br />Closure Permits: No work shall be initiated for underground tank closures <br />until the Contractor has filed applications, paid required fees (except State <br />surcharges) and received approved permits from the following agencies: <br />San Joaquin County: The Department of Health Services <br />Solano County: The Department of Environmental Management <br />1.2 REQUIREMENTS: The work includes demolition or removal of all <br />construction indicated or specified. Demolition work shall not begin until <br />authorization is received from the Contracting Officer (See Additional <br />General Paragraphs, Section 1.4); refer to paragraph "Title to Materials", <br />hereinafter. Remove rubbish and debris from the station daily, unless <br />otherwise directed. Store materials that cannot be removed daily in <br />areas specified by the Contracting Officer. <br />1.3 DUST CONTROL: Take appropriate action to check the spread of dust to <br />occupied portions of the building and to avoid the creation of a nuisance in <br />the surrounding area. Do not use water if it results in hazardous or <br />objectionable conditions, such as ice, flooding, or pollution. Comply with <br />all dust regulations imposed by local air pollution agencies. <br />1.4 PROTECTION: <br />1.4.1 Existing Work: Protect existing work which is to remain in place, <br />that is to be reused, or that is to remain the property of the Government by <br />temporary covers, shoring, bracing and supports. Items which are to remain <br />and which are damaged during performance of the work shall be repaired to <br />their original condition or replace with new. Do not overload structural <br />elements. Provide new supports and reinforcement for existing construction <br />weakened by demolition or removal work. <br />1.4.2 Facilities/Utilities: <br />1.4.2.1 Protect all electrical and mechanical services and utilities. If <br />damaged, repairs, as directed, shall be made at the Contractor's expense. <br />Where removal of existing utilities and pavement is specified or indicated, <br />provide approved barricades, temporary covering of exposed areas, and <br />temporary services or connections for electrical and mechanical utilities. <br />
