REPRODUCED AT GOVERN NT EXPENSE_ <br />- <br />1.3.1.1 Certificates: Submit manufacturer's certificate of compliance for <br />the bituminous materials. <br />1.3.1.2 Job -Mix Formula: Submit a job mix for each type of bituminous <br />mixture prior to starting work. The formula shall be within the specified <br />design range. <br />1.3.1.3 Tests: Perform the following conformance tests. <br />BITUMINOUS PAVING <br />Test for Test Method <br />(1) Sieve analysis, each size (Ca. 202) <br />(2) Residue viscosity (Ca. 346E) <br />(3) Stripping (aggregates) ASTM D 1664 <br />1.4 PREPARATION OF SUBGRADE: Requirements for subgrade are specified in <br />Section 02203, Earthwork. Prior to construction of asphaltic concrete, clean <br />previously constructed subgrade (or subbase) of all foreign substances. <br />Inspect surfaces for the specified compaction and trueness to line and grade. <br />1.5.1 General: Provide the aggregate base, prime coat and bituminous surface <br />conforming to the requirements of the Standard Specifications for Road <br />Construction, State of California, Department of Transportation. <br />2.1 MATERIALS: <br />2.1.1 Aggregates: The grading and proportioning of aggregates shall be such <br />that the combined mineral aggregate conforms to the specified requirements. <br />2.1.1.1 Aggregates for base coarse shall conform to Section 25 of the <br />Standard Specifications, Class 2 for 3/4 inch maximum size gradation. <br />2.1.1.2 Aggregate for asphaltic concrete shall conform to Section 39 of the <br />Standard Specifications, Type A for individual test result conforming to 3/4 <br />inch maximum size gradation, coarse. <br />2.1.2 Asphaltic Materials: <br />2.1.2.1 Asphalt Cement: Section 92 of the Standard Specifications, Grade <br />AR -4000. <br />2.1.2.2 Liquid Asphalt: Section 93 of the Standard Specifications, MC -70. <br />
