start of work and informed of the work location, type of work, and contaminants that may be <br />encountered. <br />During the administration of any first aid, first aid providers will utilize universal <br />precautions when treating injuries. Where exposure to blood and/or body fluids occurs, the <br />requirements of CCR, Title 8, Section 5193, "Blood-borne Pathogens," will be followed. <br />4.24.1 Boundaries <br />The creation of boundaries around work zones will be the responsibility of the <br />Superintendent with input from the Site Safety and Health Officer and will be designated at each <br />work location within the site. The exclusion and contamination reduction zones will be clearly <br />marked with signs visible from all directions on rope and t -posts. Boundaries will remain around <br />all work zones anytime the site is left unattended until the site is finish graded. T -posts will be <br />properly secured and placed at a maximum of 30 -feet apart. Lighted barricades will also be <br />placed at site access locations to obstruct unauthorized entry during the time from dusk to dawn. <br />4.25.1 Zones <br />4.25.1.1 Exclusion Zone <br />An exclusion zone will be maintained around each work location by placement of signs, <br />as described above. The size and shape of the exclusion zone will be determined by the <br />conditions on the site, and will be large enough to encompass the potentially hazardous zone <br />around the work site. The buddy system will be utilized whenever possible while work is being <br />performed within the exclusion zone.
