The contamination reduction zone will contain: <br />1. Personnel decontamination station; <br />2. Equipment decontamination station; <br />3. Plastic sheeting on which to place and segregate reusable equipment; <br />4. Wash basins, decontamination solutions, scrub brushes and a water <br />source for the decontamination of reusable equipment; <br />5. Emergency response and first aid equipment, including portable eyewash <br />showers, and fire extinguishers; and <br />6. Clearly marked trash barrels or drums with plastic liners for the placement <br />and disposal of expendable items such as gloves and protective clothing. <br />4.25.1.1.2 Support Zone <br />The support zone will consist of the area outside of the contamination reduction zone. <br />Eating, drinking and smoking will be allowed only in this zone. All non-essential personnel and <br />persons not directly involved in site work activities shall remain in the support zone at all times. <br />4.25.1.2 Entry -Exit Procedures <br />• All personnel will enter and exit the exclusion zone through the contamination <br />reduction zone. <br />• Any item taken into the exclusion zone will be assumed to be contaminated, and must <br />be decontaminated before the item leaves the area. <br />The implementation of work zones facilitates compliance with the remedial objectives. <br />Therefore, exclusion. contamination reduction and support zones will be created at the work site. <br />Movement of personnel and equipment between the zones will be controlled. This physical <br />arrangement will keep the contaminants within the specified areas, reduce the potential for the <br />contamination to spread, minimize potential contamination of workers and communicate the <br />individual site control to all personnel at the site. <br />32 <br />
