Coordinating with local government law enforcement and fire <br />officials as well as local government representatives and <br />neighboring facilities for emergency planning. <br />3. Authorizing all control measures during a hazardous chemical <br />emergency. <br />4. Authorizing facility -wide evacuation. <br />b I <br />._ Assuring that proper notification of all agencies has been <br />accomplished. <br />6. Authorizing all outside services needed to contain and/or <br />clean up hazardous material released. <br />7. Authorizing the resumption of work after cleanup and any <br />required decontamination of area(s) has been completed. <br />8. Coordinating training of all new and continuing employees <br />who handle hazardous materials and wastes. <br />The responsibilities of the Department Head or his/her designated <br />representative include the following: <br />1. Authorizing evacuation of affected area(s). <br />2. Immediately notifying the Hazardous Material Coordinator to <br />ensure the coordination of the Emergency Release Response <br />Plan. <br />3. Clearina the affected area and setting up perimeter controls. <br />4. Identifying the hazardous material, its quantity, the location <br />and personnel involved. <br />b. Controlling the spill source, if possible (i.e., plug leaking <br />container, secure leaking valve, plug drain, aerate affected <br />area). <br />Emergency m6ldical assistance will be provided by the Hospital. <br />S' 4,3 <br />
