Report of Test Procedures and Results
A Report of Test Procedures and Results shall be provided for each tank
tested, and shall include the following information:
1. Construction, shape, capacity of tank; length of connected piping.
2. Tank contents and coefficient of thermal expansion for the fluid
present in the tank during the test.
3. Type of pump (e.g., turbine, suction, remote) associated with each
tank.
4. Statement regarding the presence or absence of a State II vapor
recovery system.
5. The depth to groundwater (if known to be less than 15 feet).
6. The complete system test shall include a high level test (associated
piping and tank) and a low level test if required.
The low level test is waived if the high level test results indicate
that the system is tight.
The liquid level for the low level test shall be approximately one (1)
inch above the fill line bung.
7. Testing procedure used.
A. Individual steps taken as a part of the test shall be entered on a
log. Typical entries may include, but are not limited to: Topping
off tank, startup test, temperature calibration, and level readings.
B. The time and date the test started, the time of each log entry, and
the completion time of the test shall be included in the log using
a 24—hour clock format.
C. Any special procedures used as part of, or conditions to, the test
shall be explained.
D. Any repairs made to the piping system during the test shall be
described.
8. Test Results Format
A. The final results for each test shall be described in terms of:
1. A numerical leak rate expressed in units of gallons per hour.
2. Such rates shall be expressed as a loss (—) or gain (+) of
product.
3. The leak rate shall be isolated to the tank or the leak rate
contributed by the tank shall be included with the hydrostatic/
pneumatic piping system test data.
R061187:ds :la:ds :ds ;MAR 702
