Eagan, <br />1954 Graduated from Framingham High School, Framingham, Massachusetts. <br />1954-57 Attended Navy Training School, Great Lakes, Illinois. Served aboard the USS <br />Worcester CL144 (cruiser) from home ports of Boston and Long Beach made 52 ports of <br />call. Received an honorable discharge shortly after my 21St birthday. Graduated from the <br />training school with a rating of machinist mate with a grade point average of 3.4 and <br />mustered out with a rate of Machinist Mate 2nd Class. <br />1957-58 Employed by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. at the Antioch, Ca, electric generating plant. <br />Worked as a boiler tender. <br />1958-60 Employed by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. at the Stockton overhead line department. <br />Worked as a groundman. Attended lineman apprentice school. The most important thing <br />learned while working at PG&E was jobsite safety. <br />1960-62 Attended Stockton Junior College. Graduated with an AA degree, majored in <br />construction technology. Received a grade point average of 3.56 and was on the presidents <br />honor roll each semester. Employed by Pacific Gas & Electric during the summers, working <br />in the overhead line electric department. <br />1962-63 Employed by Alcan Pacific Co., a Sacramento CA., construction co., as an estimator <br />in the building construction division. Alcan Pacific specialized in public works. While <br />working for Alcan Pacific, took a course in heavy construction estimating. <br />1963-68 Employed by Fletcher Construction Company of Oakland, CA., specializing in <br />service station construction. FCC worked for most of the major oil companies. Started as <br />an estimator, and after 30 months was promoted to vice president and construction <br />manager. <br />1968-75 Employed by Fletcher, Eagan & Paradiso Construction Co. The new company was <br />formed with the owner and superintendent.. Continued to specialize in service station <br />construction and soon became active in public works and achieved a balance between <br />public and private work. Studied a building construction estimating course offered at UC <br />Berkeley. The instructor was Mr. Bill Veale, of MGC Construction of San Leandro, CA. <br />Studied a course in Construction Law offered at UC Berkeley. The instructor was Mr. Robert <br />C. Field, attorney with the firm Stark, Stewart, Wells & Robinson. The first oil shortage in <br />1973 prompted many fleet operators to increase their storage of motor fuels and many <br />more to for the first time have storage of their own. <br />1975-85 Employed by Eagan & Paradiso Construction Company. Warren Fletcher retired <br />and Mr. Eagan became president of the new company. The new company continued to <br />specialize in service station construction and became more involved in public work. <br />Studied the construction law course a second time. It was offered by Mr. Robert C. Field, <br />attorney with Stark, Wells, Rahl, Field and Schwartz. In the late 70's the regulators were <br />busy producing new regulations by which the oil industry would have to comply. There <br />was a second major oil shortage in 1978 and business was driven by the new regulations <br />and the fear of shortages and this would continue to the present day. The industry was fast <br />becoming a high tech type of business. It was a real challenge for those in the business to <br />stay abreast on all the new technology. <br />
