To: Mr. Mike Quartaroli Page 5
January 13, 1988
In informal discussions with the Regional Board and County Health Department,
it is apparent that maintenance of the plant will be an important considera-
tion. The ideal situation would be for a public agency to maintain the plant
to assure that proper attention is given to operations. However, it could be
difficult to get a public agency to accept the responsibility. Alternately, a
certified treatment plant operator could be hired.
Odors at the treatment plant should not be a problem if it is operated pro-
perly. However, if treatment efficiency decreases and partially treated waste-
water is allowed to enter the basins, odor could become a problem.
Other issues which will need to be addressed in planning the wastewater facili -
ties include security and flood potential . It is likely that a 6 ft fence
will be needed around all of the treatment and disposal facilities.
We hope that the information in this letter meets your present needs. If you
need additional planning or design assistance, we would be pleased to work
with you. Meanwhile, if you have any questions on the material contained in
this letter, feel free to call .
Very truly yours,
NOLTE AND ASSOCIATES
/Stan Dean
/mes (CL0130-L)
xc: Dan Schultes, Nolte and Associates, Manteca
MIL
IL
NOLTE and ASSOCIATES
Engineers/Planners -Survevors
