. New Tank Installation <br /> Prior to new UST installation, the excavation area was sampled on November 13 <br /> and 14, 1995 Soil samples, (TX-1 through TX-11), were collected from the <br /> excavation sidewalls at approximate depths ranging from 5 to 15 feet bgs Three <br /> saturated bottom samples (TXB-1 through TXB-3) were collected at approximately <br /> 17 feet bgs Analytical results are presented in Table B Soil sample locations <br /> from the new UST excavation are shown on Figure 3 <br /> To accomplish tank installation, groundwater was pumped from the excavation A <br /> grab water sample (TXH20) was collected from the open excavation on November <br /> 15, 1995 Treated water samples Baker H2O and CH20 were collected at the Baker <br /> tank on November 15, 1995, to determine disposal requirements, and after the <br /> carbon abatement system, respectively Approximately 20,000 gallons were <br /> treated and transported to the City of Tracy sewer treatment plant Analytical <br /> results for excavation and treatment water samples are presented in Table C <br /> Stockpile Sampling and Disposal <br /> Soil generated during product UST removal, product piping removal, excavation <br /> and site restoration activities was stockpiled on-site Soil samples SP-1-A-D <br /> through SP-11-A-D were collected from the soil stockpiles suspected to contain <br /> gasoline hydrocarbons Additional stockpile soil samples UOSP-1-A-D were <br /> collected from soil generated during the used oil tank and hoist removal Analytical <br /> results for the stockpile samples are presented in Table D The location of the soil <br /> stockpiles are shown on Figure 4 Approximately 500 cubic yards of soil was <br /> transported to Redwood Landfill in Novato, California The remainder of the soil <br /> was transported to Browning Ferris' OX Mountain facility Transportation was <br /> accomplished by Allwaste Transportation of San Martin, California <br /> SAMPLE ANALYSIS <br /> Soil samples collected were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline <br /> (TPH-Gasoline) according to EPA Method 8015 (modified), benzene, toluene, <br /> Ethylbenzene and Xylenes (BTEX) according to EPA Method 8020 Additional <br /> analyses for specific soil samples included total petroleum hydrocarbons calculated <br /> as diesel (TPH-Diesel) according to EPA Method 8015 (modified), total oil and <br /> grease (TOG) according to EPA Method 5520F, volatile organic compounds <br /> (VOCs) according to EPA Method 8010, Semivolatile Organics according to EPA <br /> Method 8270, and cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and zinc according to EPA <br /> Method 6010 and Total Lead according to Modified DHS Method (Luft Manual) <br /> Various physical properties including reactivity and pH were also tested for <br /> disposal purposes <br /> 9-8264tpwi page 3 <br />
