I � <br /> 03 March 2005 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0452 <br />' Page 2 of 6 <br /> during the purge process using an Oakton water analyzer Field data sheets are included in Appendix <br />' B Purged water was stored on-site in appropriately labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved drums <br />' Domestic well DW-1 was purged by opening the purge valve and allowing the holding tank to be <br /> emptied Following complete discharge of the holding tank the pump was allowed to operate for at <br /> least one minute prior to water sampling <br /> 2 12 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples <br />' Water samples were collected from each monitoring well using the dedicated disposable bailers after <br /> allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80% recovery of the pre-purge water volume A water <br />' sample was also collected from domestic well DW-I at a sampling port located on the supply line <br /> between the well head and the holding tank Each water sample was transferred into laboratory- <br /> supplied 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as <br />' a sample preservative and one 1-liter amber bottle without preservative After collection,the samples <br /> were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under chain of custody to Cal <br /> Tech Environmental Laboratories (CTEL), a California Department of Health Services (DHS)- <br /> certified analytical laboratory, and analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in <br />' accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, and <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and the fuel additives methyl- <br />' tertiary-butyl-ether(MTBE),tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPS), ethyl <br /> tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), and tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), methanol, ethanol, <br /> 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8260B <br />' 22 OUT-OF-SERVICE WELL PERMIT <br /> f Presently there are two domestic wells on-site,the working well DW-I and a second well that is non- <br /> functioning and in disrepair The EHD has directed by letter, dated 30 June 2004, that the non- <br /> functioning well be destroyed In a phone call following the receipt of letter, it was indicated by <br />' Mr Jeffrey Wong of the EHD that other options were available, among them to obtain an Out-of- <br /> Service <br /> ut-ofService well permit that is effective for up to five (5) years Since the Out-of-Service well permit <br /> option was more cost effective for the client, AGE obtained the permit, dated 27 August 2004 A <br /> copy of the regulatory letter and permit are included in Appendix C <br /> • <br /> Advanced GcoEnwronmental,Inc <br /> r <br />
