08 August 2001
AGE-NC Project No 99-0657
The CPT boring shall be advanced to approximately 100 feet bsg utilizing a 25-ton truck-mounted
CPT drill rig equipped with 2-Inch diameter hollow-stem rods, however, total depth of the boring
may vary according to geologic conditions and field evidence of impacted media encountered during
boring advancement
33 CPT SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Selected soil samples will be collected in the CPT soil boring adjacent to well MW1 between 50 feet
and 100 feet bsg Soil samples will be collected utilizing the CPT soil sampling assembly and
samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified
laboratory for the following constituents
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in
accordance with EPA Methods 8015 Modified/5030 and 8015 Modified/3550, respectively,
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary-butyl ether
. (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and
• Fuel additives-tertiary butyl alcohol(TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),MTBE, ethyl tertiary
butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethylene dibromide (EDB) and
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260 Modified
Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations
3 4 CPT GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Grab ground water samples will be collected in selected intervals of saturated porous and permeable
soil beginning at 50 feet bsg Sampling intervals will be selected based on Interpretation of lithologic
data from the Initial CPT boring with an objective of sampling significant hydrologic units Ground
water sampling procedures are outlined in section 4 2 Selected ground water samples will be
analyzed by a State of California DHS-certified laboratory for the following constituents
• TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Methods 8015 Modified/5030 and 8015
Modified/3550, respectively,
• BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and
Advanced CeoEnvironmental Inc
