t
I
' 07 June 2000
AGE-NC Protect No 99-0657
' 3 5 HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED GROUND WATER
After the installation and development of the four ground water wells on the site, each ground water
monitoring well was sampled Each sample was analyzed for TPH-g, TPH-d,BTEX,EDB, 1,2 DCA,
and each sample was analyzed for the suite of five fuel additives
IThe analytical results from the April sampling event are as follows
TPH-g was detected in the water samples collected from monitoring wells MW1 through MW4 at
' concentrations as high as 90,000 micrograms per liter (µg/1) TPH-d was detected in the water
samples collected from monitoring wells MW 1 through MW-4 at concentrations as high as 1,700
' µg/1 The highest concentration of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water resides in the area of the
former USTs and downgradient of the former UST area (MW-4)
' BTEX compounds were detected in the water samples at concentrations as high as 13,000 ,ug/l,
12,000µg/1, 980µg/1 and 8,900µg/1,respectively MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 in the
ground water samples from wells MW1 through MW4 at concentrations of 4,900 µg/l, 1,700 µg/l,
' 11 µg/1 and 2,300µg/l,respectively TAME was detected in the ground water sample collected from
MW2 at a concentration of 9 0µg/1 TBA was detected In the ground water samples collected from
MW1 through MW4 at concentrations of 1,500µg/l, 190µg/l, 20µg/1 and 1,000 µg11, respectively
' EDB was detected by EPA Method 8021A in the ground water samples collected from MW1,MW2,
MW4 at concentrations of 82µg/1, 0 86µg/1 and 82 µg/1, respectively 1,2 DCA was detected In the
ground water samples collected from all four monitoring wells at concentrations as high as 800µg/l
Analytical results of water samples collected in April 2000 are summarized on Table 3 The
' laboratory report (AAL Order No A00040611), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody form are
included in Appendix F
1
4 0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
' Saturated soil samples were encountered at approximately 35 feet bsg The static water level
was determined to be approximately 34 50 feet below the well casing tops The prevailing
ground water flow direction in Apnl in this area was toward the southwest
' The most intensely hydrocarbon-impacted soil was encountered in the area of the former
USTs, at a depth of 30 feet bsg
I
Advanced CeoEnuronmental,Inc
