I <br /> 07 March 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0141 <br /> Page 3 of 10 <br /> IAll nnseate generated during drilling activities was containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved <br /> 55-gallon drums, and was stored on-site in an area lacking public access All soil borings were <br /> backfilled over their entire depth with a portland cement grout mix <br /> 2 2 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> Between 14 October and 23 October 2002 soil borings were advanced i <br /> g at the e s t to install <br /> monitoring wells MW-813,MW-9A/B,MW-10A/B, MW-11 A/B and MW-12A/B) and one ground <br /> water monitoring/extraction well EX-1 <br /> 2 2 1 Drilling <br /> The soil borings were advanced using a CME-75 high torque drill rig equipped with 8 25-inch <br /> diameter hollow-stein augers The drill rig and two-man crew were supplied by Cascade Drilling Soil <br /> samples were not collected during drilling activities Auger returns generated by drilling were stored <br /> lieon-site in properly labeled DOT(Department of Transportation)-approved 55-gallon drums pending <br /> laboratory analysis <br /> I2 2 2 Well Completions <br />' Pilot borings MW-8B, MW-9A/B, MW-10A/B, MW-11AB and MW-12AB were completed as <br /> ground water monitoring wells using two-inch diameter PVC casing with 0 020-inch slotted screen <br /> The screen was installed from approximately 15 to 35 feet bsg in MW-9A through MW-12A, and <br /> I from 60 to 65 feet bsg in wells MW8B through MW-12B,with blank casing extended to the surface <br /> Pilot boring EX-1 was completed as a ground water extraction well with 0 020-inch slotted screen <br /> installed from approximately 15 to 35 feet bsg and with blank casing extended to the surface The <br /> filter pack(No 3 Lonestar sand)was installed from the bottom of each boring to two feet above the <br /> screened intervals A nominal 2-foot bentonite chip plug was then installed above the filter pack and <br /> hydrated The wells were then grouted to near surface grade with portland cement, and water-tight, <br /> traffic-rated well boxes were installed over the wells As-built well diagrams are depicted on the <br /> boring logs in Appendix C <br /> 2 2 3 Monitoring Well Development <br /> I On 18 October 2002, monitoring wells MW-10A, MW-10B, MW-11A and MW-11B were <br /> developed and on 23 October 2002,wells MW8B,MW-9A,MW-9B,MW-12A and MW-12B were <br /> developed All wells were developed utilizing a Watera-Hydro-Lift II pump Ground water was <br /> Ipurged from each monitoring well until the produced ground water was visually sediment free <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
