v
maw
k4 KLEINFELDER
January 19, 1993
File: 24-220172-A00
Ms. Lindaurkette RECEIVED
San Joaquin
quin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
455 San Joaquin Street JAN Z 1 1993
Stockton, CA 95201 ENVIRgNMENTAL HEALTH
Subject: Groundwater Assessment
City Water Well Location
Cal West Concrete Cutting
1153 Vanderbilt Circle
Manteca, California
Ms Turkette:
I contacted Ms. Diane Baxter [(209) 239-8460] with the City of Manteca Department of Public
Works regarding the location of City Wells. I was informed that the City Well #13 site is
located along the northwest property boundary of the Cal West site.
Well #13 is a 16.25-inch cased well with a total depth of 370 feet. The well has alternating
screen intervals from 155 to 370 feet. The sanitary seal consists of conductor casing and
cement to a depth of 100 feet. Attached are two plates showing the location of Well #13 and
the Cal West site.
The presence of Well #13 to the northwest of the Cal West site does not affect the location of
the proposed monitoring well adjacent to the backfilled tank excavation. The proposed
monitoring well near the northwest comer of the backfilled excavation should provide
downgradient monitoring of the excavation (groundwater gradient estimated from
575 Industrial Park Drive). The well should also detect potential constituents that may affect
Well #13 northwest of the site.
Based on your review of this information, we will schedule and coordinate a drilling date. It
is Meinfelder's understanding that the County intends to be present during the drilling of the
well and during the grouting of the well.
Please notify me if the proposed well location is approved, and do not hesitate to contact me if
you have any questions or need additional information.
Sincerely,
KLEINFELDER, C.
G-
Eric S.
