08 May 2019 AdvancedGeo
AGE Project No. 15-3508 Environmental
2.3. STORAGE — 22 CCR § 66265.192 (k)(8)
Vehicle waste oil is stored within the double walled AST with a capacity of 800-gallons.
Waste oil is a flammable liquid with a specific gravity approximated at 0.82 kilogram per
cubic meter (kg/m3).
3.0. SECONDARY CONTAINMENT
The AST is double walled and has a 110% secondary shell for containment of a spill from
the primary. The top and side view of the AST are depicted in Figure 3.
3.1. TANK DESIGN — 22 CCR § 66264.193(e)(3)
The AST is manufactured by Superior Tank. The primary and secondary compartments
are manufactured from 10-gauge steel with a standard 1/8-inch thickness, 72-inches in
width, 48-inches in length and 61-inches in height, in a common cuboid shape.
3.2. VISUAL INSPECTION — 22 CCR § 66264.193(e)(2)
A visual inspection of the tank and its affiliated pumps, piping, ancillary equipment, interior
surface and exterior surface did not reveal signs of leaks, corrosion, weld cracks or breaks
or scrapes in coating which may cause a release from the tank system. There were no
discrepancies noted at the time of the AST visual inspection. Figure 3 shows the top view
of the tank with appurtenances. A visual assessment summary is included in Table 3
4.0. HYDROSTATIC TEST
On 29 January 2019, the hydrostatic (pressure) test was conducted to verify the AST
primary and secondary shell will not leak. The test was conducted by a representative of
AGE on 29 January 2019. Test results are provided in Table 4.
4.1. TEST PROCEDURES
A total of six AST primary and secondary compartment ports were temporarily sealed to
maintain an inner constant pressure. A regulated pressure valve was attached to one
opening of the primary and secondary AST compartment. Air pressure was applied with
a compressor to 3-pounds per square inch (psi)for a half hour to the primary compartment
and then an additional half hour to the secondary compartment. The AST ports are shown
on Figure 3.
