AOC Work Plans
UST 18820010
Formerly located south of the Ray Bond area(Plate 4.1.2)of the Finger Jo t Building, this 10-foot
deep(unknown volume)concrete tank occasionally held PCP solutions us d to treat wood. This
tank was exempt from State UST regulations and was filled in circa 1987. Kleinfelder
(Kleinfelder, 1992)reported that soil samples collected adjacent to and dec per than the tank did not
contain detectable concentrations of PCP at a reporting level of 2 parts per billion(ppb).
Kleinfelder also concluded that there was no evidence of leakage from the tank(Kleinfelder, 1992).
In 2001,AGE drilled one soil boring(PB-4)in the vicinity of the Penta Ta nk area to a depth of 55
feet bgs. One soil sample(from a depth of 10 foot bgs)and one groundwa ter sample were
collected and submitted for laboratory analyses for SVOCs,phenols, and f Drmaldehyde.
Formaldehyde was detected in the soil sample at a concentration of 3.2 m g.,just above the
residential PRG of 3.0 mg/kg,while SVOCs and phenols were below reporting limits. None of the
requested analytes were detected in the groundwater sample.
As discussed above,no formal closure letter has been issued for this UST;however, according to
the PHS-EHD,there are no outstanding issues related to any of the USTs I with the exception of
USTs Number 0002 and 0005).
UST 18820011
UST 18820011 was a tank of uncertain size and construction exempt froir State UST regulations.
It was located beneath the boiler room(Plate 4.1.2)and utilized to receive steam water(AGE,
2001). As discusses above,no formal closure letter as been issued for thi UST;however,
according to the PHS-EHD, there are no outstanding issues related to any Df the USTs(with the
exception of USTs Number 0002 and 0005). As discussed above,no fo al closure letter has been
Draft
KB61125 workplan-ESC MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. 21
September 28,2005
