WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -5- <br /> THE MARLEY COOLING TOWER COMPANY <br /> STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> C. Sludge Disposal : <br /> 1. Residues from the ion exchange treatment process, sludges, and other <br /> solids removed from the contaminated waters shall be tested and disposed <br /> of in compliance with Subchapter 15, Title 23, California Administrative <br /> Code. <br /> D. Receiving Water Limitations-Stockton Diverting Canal : <br /> 1. Concentrations for the following constituents shall not be exceeded at the <br /> downstream monitoring station: <br /> Constituent Units Concentration <br /> Copper ug/l 6.0 <br /> Trivalent Chromium ug/l 50 <br /> Hexavalent Chromium ug/l 11 <br /> Arsenic ug/l 10 <br /> Total Dissolved Solids mg/l 500 <br /> 2. The discharge shall not cause visible oil , grease, scum, foam, floating or <br /> suspended material in the receiving waters or surface water drainage <br /> courses. <br /> 3. The discharge shall not cause concentrations of any materials in the <br /> receiving waters which are deleterious to human, animal , aquatic, or plant <br /> life. <br /> 4. The discharge shall not cause esthetically undesirable discoloration of <br /> the receiving waters or surface water drainage courses. <br /> 5. The discharge shall not cause fungus, slimes, or other objectionable <br /> growths in the receiving waters or surface water drainage courses. <br /> 6. The discharge shall not cause bottom deposits in the receiving waters or <br /> surface water drainage courses . <br /> 7. The discharge shall not increase the turbidity of the receiving waters by <br /> more than 10% over background levels . <br /> 8. The discharge shall not alter the normal ambient pH of the receiving <br /> water more than 0.5 units. <br /> 9. The discharge shall not increase the normal ambient temperature of the <br /> receiving water more than 57 (3°C) . <br />
