June 12,1990 <br /> Tuesday <br /> Day # 7 <br /> Septic Tank A Mr Jerry Wicks of the county health department <br /> visited the site to inspected the remove of the <br /> septic tank by Don Lawley and company I showed him <br /> the location were the tank had been removed on <br /> thursday I told him that the tank was removed and <br /> destroyed and hauled off by Don Lawley <br /> Safety Meeting Eric conducted safety meeting See Eric' s notes <br /> Safety item cover by myself are <br /> I A closer plan for the PTV in the event that the <br /> fire water line is broken <br /> 2 Observe the 5 MPH speed limit, fork lift driver <br /> come from inside the buildings very fast <br /> 3 AM&M needs to have access to the building known <br /> as Yankee stadium at all times If this can not be <br /> accommodated to notify me so that product can be <br /> removed and stockpiled in an other building <br /> 4 AM&M has pedestrian traffic at the end of each <br /> shift That would mean the 3 PM shift change would <br /> have people walking through the site to get to <br /> there tome cards located in the guard shack and <br /> then to the employee parking lot <br /> 5 Excavation must have be closed at the end of <br /> each work day using the fence panels provided by <br /> D&M <br /> Excavation CKC begins the west excavation by removing soil <br /> overburden The overburden is stockpiled at the <br /> south/east corner of the property <br /> Finding some surface moisture The source is a <br /> storm drain line that runs in a north/south <br /> direction under the shop floor to the south wall <br /> building line were it turns 90 degrees to the east <br /> and runs along the foundation line for about 100' <br /> Other pipes are being uncovered that are close to <br /> the surface and my have been product lines running <br /> to the tanks <br /> The equipment used for the excavation is a John <br /> Deere 490D track, hydraulic excavator the soil is <br /> loaded into the trucks using a CAT 926E wheeled <br /> articulated loader <br /> Contamination Hit contamination in the upper 3' of the West <br /> excavation Did not expect to see contamination <br /> until 8 or 10 feet a that <br /> The contamination is around a 8" concrete pip <br /> was buried beneath the building The pipe is <br /> connected to the storm drain system. Runs under <br /> building and the turns east and runs along the <br /> building foundation line Bottom of line is about <br /> 18" below grade Pipe is broken and removed Pipe <br />
