Sample Collection Sequoia collects samples under the direction of the client or the regulating authority. Equipment is checked-out before each use to ensure proper function. Field instruments are calibrated in the laboratory before each sampling event. Check-outs and calibrations are kept in a log book for an accurate record of performance. Cross contamination is a frequent hazard during sampling. Strict cleaning procedures for equipment are posted and observed. Appropriate sample containers, temporary storage coolers, sampling devices, and personal safety gear are assembled to ensure that all gear has been adequately cleaned from the previous sampling job. similarly, if multiple samples are to be taken with the same device, the device is thoroughly cleaned between samples.
