6.2 Respiratory Protection <br /> Respiratory Protection will be available for field personnel to use as required The <br /> respirators, their proper use, and maintenance are the responsibility of each contracting company <br /> that has field personnel Radian employees are personally responsible for properly using, <br /> cleaning, maintaining, and storing the respirators issued to them The air-purifying respirator <br /> equipped with organic vapor cartridges and high efficiency particulate air (NEPA) filters is <br /> capable of filtering airborne organic vapors, rusts, and fumes out of inhaled air This mask does <br /> not provide oxygen and should not be used in oxygen-deficient atmospheres The mask will not <br /> provide adequate protection if the face seal is not tight All members of the field team will be <br /> required to be clean shaven before wearing this mask Wearing this mask with any facial hair <br /> that interferes with the face seal is a violation of OSHA regulations <br /> 6.3 Personal Hygiene Practices <br /> The field team must pay strict attention to sanitation and washing requirements to <br /> avoid personal contamination The following instructions will be discussed and must be <br /> followed <br /> • Never put anything in the mouth, including fingers, <br /> • All employees must wash their hands, forearms, face, and neck before <br /> eating, drinking, smoking, or using the restroom No exceptions to this <br /> rule will be made, <br /> • Smoking and open flames are prohibited on-site, and <br /> • At the end of the day, each employee will shower thoroughly <br /> 6.4 Transporting Fuel <br /> • Spill-proof fuel containers will be used when transporting fuel in Radian vehicles <br /> for any Chevron Pipe Line project <br /> 6-2 <br />
