Local Area Medical Facility
San Joaquin General Hospital 209-468-6000
500 W. Hospital Road
French Camp
Additional emergency resources are included in Appendix A
5.1 Emergency Response for Flooding
Vintage's emergency response for flooding is intended as a guide for use by operations
personnel in the event of a levee break and flooding of facilities.
The first person aware of a levee overflowing or a levee break will notify the Operation
Manager or Designated Alternate immediately after moving to a safe location, then give
the name of the island and break location. The person will then wait at a safe location for
further instructions.
The Operations Manager or Designated Alternate will notify the local fire department
(phone 911). The Operations Manager or Designated Alternate will evaluate the situation
and prioritize a list of wells to be shut-in. In evaluating the situation, consider the
following:
• determine the direction and rate of water flow to see if the nearest wells can be
safely shut-in first;
• determine manpower needed to shut-in wells;
• determine safe routes into wells to be shut-in; and
• identify transportation requirements.
No employee at ANYTIME shall attempt to secure a well unless it can be done in a safe
manner.
5.2 Emergency Response for Earthquakes
Earthquake is considered to be one of the most potentially destructive threats to life and
property. A moderate to severe seismic incident on any of the several fault zones within
or in relative close proximity Vintage's operations could potentially damage pipeline and
production equipment at Vintage's natural gas facilities.
Following a catastrophic earthquake, on site personnel will care for any injured and
provide medical care to the extent appropriate implementing response procedures
outlined in Section 4.0. All necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of all
personnel.
2
