It is ideal for Sys- tems which do not require I I.L. listing for containment. "I -he RAPID SIA' system consists of the next larger size of pipe and special two-piece fittings. Refer to Manual No. 132160 and Manual No. 132101 for installation instructions for the product pipe and to Bulletin No. 116600 for tapering tool operating instructions. Do not use US -1014 adhesive of) product (primary) piping. SECTION 2 PREPARATION . ASSEMBLY •Pipe. Preparation, RAPID SEV pipe is manufac- tired with plain ends. The ends of containment pipe must he ma- chined or thoroughly sanded for a length of at least 3". Any surface irregularities must he removed. This is most easily accomplished by using a Model 2100 power tool available from Smith Fiberglass. Preset at the factory, it carr scarf 3" and 4" RADII) SET pipe. Refer to Bulletin No. 1:6625 for operating instructions. Containment pipe can also he scarfed using a Smith Fiberglass Products secondary con- tainment scarfing adapter kit. This kit consists of a special blade (3%" long), orange, hlade holder, ;X", allerr wlet)( 11, and V and 4" gauges which are re- quired to set the 2"-6" Snrith Fiberglass I'roducts standard tapering tool. A 6" secondary con- tainment scarfing adapter kit is also available. Assen)ble the proper size man- drel and orange scarfing blade holder following the steps in Rulletin No. 116600. Rotate the tool hociv so that the blade holder is at a 12 o'cl()ck position (see lig. 1 ). This assures that the blade will rest on top of the gauge. Slide the proper sire gauge all the wav to the back of the man- drel. Insert the special blade into the blade holder all the wav to the hack of the tool hods. After posi- tioning the black reference mark on the gauge under- the blade, be sure the blade makes uniform con- tact with the gauge and that the hlade holder is resting on the blade. Using the nuts, bolts, and wash- ers supplied, tighten the blade holder to secure the hlacle. Now insert and slide the hearing plate into the slot located between the tool body and the blade holder (see Fig. 1 ).
