F ::�'. <br />Tr stainlessOnly p:: 7 ed materials t. t the Statement of Work shall be acceptable unless <br />vdiemise approved in writinginstallation. <br />The Contractor shall ensure that all One Calls have been made and the local VERIZON Field Engineer <br />notified before any excavation begins. <br />The typical work week for Contractors shall be (6) 10 -hour days. The VERIZON project planning <br />Calendar is provided on the last page of this document. <br />Contractor shall provide a portable toilet for the duration of the _project. <br />2.1 Site Preparation and Excavation of the UST Components <br />2.1.1 Excavate and expose approximately the top 301/6 of the existing 550 -gallon <br />Xerxes fiberglass double wailled, diesel fuel tank. The existing burial depth is 29" <br />from the existing ground elevation to the top of the steel manway lid. Enough of <br />the UST is to be exposed to allow the installation of a new 42" polygonal <br />fiberglass turbine and all associated fuel and vent lines. <br />2.1.2 All excavated material shall be removed from the site and properly disposed of, <br />with the exception to the Top Rock and pea gravel. The existing Top Rock and <br />pea gravel may be reusW if the material is kept clean. <br />2.1.3 Remove the two (2) existing 4" pipe bollards, if required. The plastic covers on <br />these units will be reinstalled at the completion of the project. <br />2.1.4 If any minor shoring for the partW excavation is required, the total cost shall be <br />included within the project. <br />2.1.5 All existing buried fuel lines, primary and secondary, including the vent line <br />shall be excavated and removed. Any related conduit and wiring shalt also be <br />removed and all properly disposed of <br />2.1.6 Contractor shall take soil samples and analyze for petroleum content in <br />accordance with all applicablle State and Local Regulations or shall <br />verify testing protocol with Verizon before the tests are collected Laboratory <br />turn around shall be 24 hours. If petroleum 'impacted soils are present, the <br />Contractor is to contact Robert Mahan, who will then notify the appropriate <br />authorities. The Ckmtractor is not to contact the authorities directly, under any <br />circumstances. <br />2.1.7 In the event the Contractor shall require the use of a 2" water pump or less <br />during the duration of the UST piping upgrade, the cost of the pump and labor <br />are to be included within the project. <br />
