Li
Control Engineers, Inc.
Product Summary
The CEI Series 3000 UST Automatic Leak Detection System is an automated tank
level and line leak detection system developed specifically to meet both current and
developing requirements of the petroleum marketing industry. The Series 3000
continuously monitors tank inventory, tests for leaks in underground storage tanks,
and tests for leaks in associated piping systems.
The CEI Series 3000 was developed by Control Engineers, Inc. with the cooperation
of the major petroleum companies. The product is based on GE Fanuc's Series One
Plus Programmable Controller. There are over 300,000 Series One controllers in
operation in the world today, which testifies to the flexibility and reliability of this
product.
This product exceeds the latest EPA requirements for both existing and new installa-
tions. Along with tank level and line leak sensors, the Series 3000 can incorporate
external sensors such as STP sump, annular space, ground water, and vapor probes.
For existing sites that do not have secondary containment, the Series 3000 continu-
ously and automatically tests tanks with the ability to precisely detect a leak rate of
0.2 gallons per hour.
The line leak detection system continuously monitors pressurized lines for leak rates
of both 3.0 and 0.1 gallons per hour, and automatically records test results. When a
leak is detected, the respective product pump is disabled and appropriate alarms are
produced.
When the Series 3000 ,is coupled with the CEI Host computer package, it provides a
powerful management and operational tool. Not only does it ensure compliance with
environmental regulations, but it also does the following:
Automatically records and maintains tank and line testing
data at a secure central location
Automatically schedules product deliveries
Avoids product outages, haul backs and tank overfills
Provides discretionary remote testing and diagnostic
capability for tanks, pumps and piping
In addition, the control and monitoring of other functions that often exist in petroleum
marketing facilities can be added at a reasonable cost, including:
Energy management (control of lighting, signs, and other
electrical equipment)
Car wash and other ancillary equipment authorization
Monitoring of spill clean-up and remediation equipment
Control Engineers, Inc.
