• U157
` (1-84)
ATT
Communications
AT&T
J110 W. TURNER ROAD
LODI, CALIFORNIA
MONITORING SYSTEM AND RESPONSE PLAN
The secondary containment system of the underground fuel storage tank
is continuously monitored by a Leak Alert Model Number LA -04 manufactured
by Universal Sensors and Devices. The system uses three thermal elements
for sensing any type of,liquid. One sensor is located on the south
spool of the tank, the second on the north spool and the third on the
annular space at the north end of the tank.
Each active channel of the Leak Alert System is equipped with a tripot
for alarm setpoint adjustment. All tri pots have been adjusted at the
factory. If for any reason adjustments are required, instructions have
been provided. In addition, there is a push button switch mounted on
the enclosure cover panel for performing functional tests of the alarm
circuit.
The Leak Alert System has a central monitoring panel located in the
emergency power room next..to the day fuel tank with a separate visual
display on each channel being monitored.
Each channel has the following:
1. One green light to indicate the system is functioning and is not
in an alarm condition.
2. One red light which turns on when the substance being monitored
makes contact with the probe. This condition will trigger a
visual and audible alarm located on the panel.
In addition, a visual and audible alarm will be indicated throughout
the building as a major building alarm requiring immediate attention
by company personnel. The building is attended 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week. The alarm indications are also remoted to another AT&T office
in San .Bernardino, California. The indication will display on a VDT
with instructions, names and telephone numbers of responsible personnel
to be alerted. Another safeguard that will be utilized is maintaining
a log of visual inspections to be performed daily.
The inspection will consist of the following;
