0 SECTION 11.2 FUEL PUMP AND DISPENSER INSTALLATION <br />L <br />1.04 OUALITY CONTROL <br />A. The Contractor shall have onsite at all times during the tank installation a qualified UST <br />Installation Supervisor. <br />B. Perform all mechanical work in accordance with applicable rules. regulations, codes, and <br />ordinances of local, state, and federal authorities, and give all notices as required during the <br />performance of the mechanical work. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />The equipment schedule schedule will govern the requirements for the equipment to be <br />furnished and this specification is for the proper installation of the equipment. <br />2.01 SUCTION PUMP SYSTEMS <br />A. The Contractor shall install the equipment as described in the service station equipment list. <br />The scope of work will designate if the equipment is to be owner furnished or contractor <br />furnished. <br />B. Base and frame of pump unit shall be rectangular -shaped steel stamping with a bolted down <br />design and a weather protection, anti -corrosion finish. <br />C. A product hose of 12 feet in length having a i -inch inside diameter constructed ofasolin <br />g e <br />resistant anti -static synthetic rubber with a retractor shall be installed. For gasoline delivery <br />systems, the hose will be coaxial capable of vapor recovery in compliance with the CARB. <br />D. Fuel nozzle shall be an automatic shut-off, 1 %inch rigid tube, curved and tapered in <br />compliance with CARE regulations. <br />E. Motors shall be of the appropriate horsepower to ensure adequate flow rates, 1 15/230 volts, <br />single-phase, 60 Hz, continuous duty, acceptable for hazardous locations, Class 1,Group D <br />F. Motor switch shall be designed so motor is activated only when operating handle is turned to <br />the ON position. A remote shut-off switch shall be provided that is in compliance with all <br />applicable federal, state, and local codes. The remote shut off switch is to be a minimum of 15' <br />and a maximum of 75' from the nearest pump or dispenser. <br />G. Pumps shall be a rotary vane pumping unit with Teflon lip seal, brass rotor carbon blades, <br />bypass and control valves, air eliminator and atmospheric chambers combined in one component. <br />H. Register shall be a 4 -rotor design with a totalizer, interlock, and automatic reset. Dials <br />return to zero semi -automatically by controls located on scuff panel. <br />709s1122 2 of 5 <br />
