SECTION 11.2 FUEL PUMP AND DISPENSER INSTALLATION <br />Drawings, and the Contractor shall check space allotment, foundations, and other like items to <br />ascertain that there are no interferences. The Contractor shall notify the owners rep., regarding <br />any discrepancies or installation difficulties disclosed. Additional costs incurred by the <br />Contractor's failure to report such discrepancies shall be borne by the Contractor. <br />B. Before placement of equipment, the Contractor shall check concrete embedded items and <br />anchor bolts, and where severe misalignments occur, adjustment of such misahznments shall be <br />subiect to the approval of the Engineer. <br />C..-knv deviation from the Drawings and,'or Specifications shall be subject to prior wiitten <br />approval of the Engineer. <br />3.0- NSTALLATION <br />V The Contractor shall install equipment in strict accordance with the manufacturer's drawings, <br />tolerances, instructions, and recommendations. <br />B. `'hen necessary, services of manufacturer's representatives, engineers, or installers will be <br />made available for installing mechanical equipment. Such services shall be requested by the <br />Contractor sufficiently in advance to allow ample time for approval and procurement. Additional <br />costs incurred by the Contractor's failure to properly schedule such services shall be bome by the <br />Contractor. <br />C. The Contractor shall position the equipment, shim to level, properly align components, and <br />tighten anchors. Prior to assembling equipment components or connecting external piping, ducts, <br />and other like items, the Contractor shall thoroughly inspect the equipment internally_ for damage <br />or defects, remove foreign materials, and clean piping assemblies. <br />D. After completing external connections to piping and other like items, the Contractor shall <br />ensure that equipment alignment is within the stated tolerances and that stresses from external <br />connections do not exceed equipment manufacturer's limits. <br />E. The Contractor shall lubricate all equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's <br />instructions and in keeping with accepted engineering practice. The Contractor shall flush clean <br />all equipment components requiring lubricant, but shipped "dry. The Contractor shall completely <br />flush oil supply and return piping, drain the flushings, clean the oil reservoirs, add the specified <br />lubricant, and purge the supply piping prior to connecting to the equipment. <br />F.
