E.Training and Drills Version :27.10.4 <br /> Quarterly Ql Notification Exercise <br /> . Scope: Exercise communication between facility personnel and the QI(s) and/or <br /> designated alternate(s). At least once each year, one of the notification exercises <br /> should be conducted during non-business hours. <br /> . Objective: Contact must be made with a QI or designated alternate, as identified in <br /> the Plan. <br /> • General: All personnel receiving notification shall respond to the notification and <br /> verify their receipt of the notification. Personnel who do not respond should be <br /> contacted to determine whether or not they received the notification. <br /> Quarterly Emergency Procedure Exercise (optional) <br /> . Scope: Exercise the emergency procedures for the facility to mitigate or prevent any <br /> discharge or substantial threat of a discharge of oil or hazardous material from facility <br /> operational activities associated with oil transfers. <br /> . Objective: Conduct an exercise of the facility's emergency procedures to ensure <br /> personnel knowledge of the actions to be taken to mitigate a spill. This exercise may <br /> be a walk-through of the emergency procedures. <br /> . Optional: This is offered as an optional exercise to provide facilities with an exercise <br /> that may be conducted unannounced to fulfill the plan holder unannounced exercise <br /> requirement. <br /> Semi-Annual/Annual Equipment Deployment Exercise (Facility-owned equipment) <br /> . Scope: Deploy and operate facility response equipment identified in the response <br /> plan. The equipment to be deployed must include the following, at a minimum: <br /> 1,000 feet of representative type of boom; <br /> one of each type of skimming system; or <br /> the equipment necessary to respond to the facility's Small/Average Most <br /> Probable Discharge (AMPD), whichever is less. <br /> . Objective: Demonstrate personnel's ability to deploy and operate response <br /> equipment. Ensure that the response equipment is in proper working order. <br /> .
