Peters, Jr. —Sr. Director- Environmental, Health & Safety <br /> 3.21 EPA— U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. <br /> 3.22 Episodic Event—An activity or activities, either planned or unplanned, that does not normally <br /> occur during generator operations, resulting in an increase in the generation of hazardous <br /> wastes that exceeds the calendar month quantity limits for the generator's usual category. <br /> Declaring for an episodic event allows VSQGs and SQGs to maintain their existing generator <br /> category for hazardous waste. <br /> 3.23 Generator Status— Designation as a Very Small, Small, or Large Quantity Generator as <br /> determined by the quantity of Hazardous Waste generated monthly. <br /> 3.24 Hazardous Materials- For the purposes of the HD Supply EHS Standards and procedures, <br /> Hazardous Materials include all chemical products in any form (i.e., solid, liquid, or gas)that <br /> are sold, used, handled, managed, stored, generated, or transported by the Businesses or <br /> present at the Locations. <br /> 3.25 Hazardous Waste - Damaged, spilled, out-of-date, or otherwise unusable Hazardous <br /> Materials and Hazardous Materials that are generated by a specific event or process (e.g., <br /> spill or pipe threading). For the purposes of the HD Supply EHS Standards and procedures, <br /> Hazardous Waste shall include all waste materials except Municipal Solid Waste. <br /> 3.26 Hazardous Waste Generator—Person or Location whose acts or processes generate <br /> Hazardous Waste. <br /> 3.27 Hazardous Waste Shipping Documents— Documents which are required to transport <br /> hazardous waste including Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests, Shipping Papers, Bills of <br /> Lading, Land Disposal Restriction Notifications, etc. <br /> 3.28 Incident—An unplanned event of some significance related to HD Supply operations (e.g., <br /> associate injury, property damage, auto accident, etc.), handling and management of <br /> Hazardous Materials or Hazardous Waste, transportation of goods and personnel, products <br /> stored and sold, and Business facilities. <br /> 3.29 Incidental Spill—A small, controlled spill, leak or release of Hazardous Materials that is less <br /> than 15 gallons, is located indoors and presents a relatively low risk to associates or the <br /> environment. <br /> 3.30 Large Quantity Generator(LQG)—A Location that generates 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds) <br /> or more per month of Hazardous Waste or more than one (1) kilogram per month of Acutely <br /> Hazardous Waste. <br /> 3.31 Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)—An organization designed to help <br /> communities prepare for and respond to emergencies involving hazardous substances. <br /> 3.32 Local Emergency Response Organizations— Local agencies that would respond to or be <br /> involved in responding to an emergency situation at the Location. This includes organizations <br /> such as the local fire department, police, emergency medical responders, nearest hospital, <br /> and the Local Emergency Planning Committee. <br /> Any printed copy of this document is an uncontrolled document.
