Peters, Jr. —Sr. Director- Environmental, Health & Safety 4.0 POLICY & PROCEDURE 4.1 Expectations 4.1.1 HD Supply is committed to ensuring the proper handling, storage, management, transportation, and disposal of Hazardous Waste generated by HD Supply Locations. This includes properly characterizing waste generated during the course of Business operations and activities and from the handling of products including damaged, leaking, or expired materials. 4.1.2 HD Supply leaders, management and associates in addition to contractors and vendors shall comply with this Hazardous Waste program as written and all applicable federal, provincial, state, and local rules and regulations related to Hazardous Waste. 4.1.3 HD Supply's management practices for Hazardous Waste may in some cases exceed the local requirements keeping in mind the most stringent standard shall apply at all times. 4.1.4 Location Manager shall be ultimately responsible for all aspects of consistent and compliant execution of Hazardous Waste Management at the Location(s)to which he/she is assigned. Failure to consistently and compliantly execute the Hazardous Waste program is a Major Work Rule Violation. 4.1.5 Under no circumstances shall Hazardous Waste be: 4.1.5.1 Disposed of by dumping into sinks or drains, pouring on the ground or to surface water systems, placing in the municipal trash, or any other unapproved method. 4.1.5.2 Treated by intentionally diluting with water, neutralizing or drying, or any other unapproved treatment method. 4.1.5.3 Stored and accumulated in any fashion other than as approved and described by this Hazardous Waste management program (e.g., containerized, labeled, and appropriately placed in Zones in the Hazard Waste Accumulation areas). 4.1.5.4 Accumulated on site for more than the maximum storage limits. Refer to Section 4.14 Table 2 for accumulation time limits. 4.1.5.5 Transported and consolidated at a central HD Supply Location. 4.1.5.6 Transported to any location for any purpose other than by the Approved Hazardous Waste Transporter for proper disposal. This includes being taken home by associates or otherwise being handled as "household" Hazardous Waste. Any printed copy of this document is an uncontrolled document.
