Peters, Jr. —Sr. Director- Environmental, Health & Safety <br /> 4.0 POLICY & PROCEDURE <br /> 4.1 Expectations <br /> 4.1.1 HD Supply is committed to ensuring the proper handling, storage, management, <br /> transportation, and disposal of Hazardous Waste generated by HD Supply Locations. <br /> This includes properly characterizing waste generated during the course of Business <br /> operations and activities and from the handling of products including damaged, <br /> leaking, or expired materials. <br /> 4.1.2 HD Supply leaders, management and associates in addition to contractors and <br /> vendors shall comply with this Hazardous Waste program as written and all <br /> applicable federal, provincial, state, and local rules and regulations related to <br /> Hazardous Waste. <br /> 4.1.3 HD Supply's management practices for Hazardous Waste may in some cases <br /> exceed the local requirements keeping in mind the most stringent standard shall <br /> apply at all times. <br /> 4.1.4 Location Manager shall be ultimately responsible for all aspects of consistent and <br /> compliant execution of Hazardous Waste Management at the Location(s)to which <br /> he/she is assigned. Failure to consistently and compliantly execute the Hazardous <br /> Waste program is a Major Work Rule Violation. <br /> 4.1.5 Under no circumstances shall Hazardous Waste be: <br /> 4.1.5.1 Disposed of by dumping into sinks or drains, pouring on the ground or to <br /> surface water systems, placing in the municipal trash, or any other <br /> unapproved method. <br /> 4.1.5.2 Treated by intentionally diluting with water, neutralizing or drying, or any <br /> other unapproved treatment method. <br /> 4.1.5.3 Stored and accumulated in any fashion other than as approved and <br /> described by this Hazardous Waste management program (e.g., <br /> containerized, labeled, and appropriately placed in Zones in the Hazard <br /> Waste Accumulation areas). <br /> 4.1.5.4 Accumulated on site for more than the maximum storage limits. Refer to <br /> Section 4.14 Table 2 for accumulation time limits. <br /> 4.1.5.5 Transported and consolidated at a central HD Supply Location. <br /> 4.1.5.6 Transported to any location for any purpose other than by the Approved <br /> Hazardous Waste Transporter for proper disposal. This includes being <br /> taken home by associates or otherwise being handled as "household" <br /> Hazardous Waste. <br /> Any printed copy of this document is an uncontrolled document.
