3 . 0 INSPECTION OBSERVATIONS A detailed formal visual exterior inspection of the AST was performed in accordance with the STI STANDARD FOR THE INSPECTION OF ABOVEGROUND STORAGE TANKS , SP001 , 6" edition , issued January 2018 , and adhered to regulatory requirements specified in the California Code of Regulations ( CCR) , Title 22 , Division 4 . 5 , Chapter 15 , Article 10 , Sections 66265 . 191 to 66265 . 202 . ATTACHMENT A, STEEL TANK INSTITUTE FORMAL AST INSPECTION FORM , contains the inspection findings generated for AST- 1 . A summary of the exterior , visual inspection observations for AST- 1 follows : AST- 1 is a nominal 1 , 000-gallon , UL 142 listed ( No . 31335) , rectangular , single-wall , welded steel tank containing used oil . The AST is located in an enclosed steel structure that provides secondary containment of the AST. A 164ch high by 32-inch long access port with a hinged cover provides access to the east top of the AST where the AST appurtenances are located . The AST appurtenances consist of the following : • One 4- inch plugged port; • One 24ch poly normal vent; • One Franklin Fueling Systems 5w inch emergency vent , model number 803-200-01 ; • One 2- inch port equipped with a compressed air operated high- liquid level shut-off valve and audible alarm whistle . A product return flexible poly pipe is also connected to this port. A 0 . 5-inch flexible poly pipe is used to return overfill product to the used oil drain pan in the Maintenance Shop ; • One 2- inch port used as the discharge for the AST that is equipped with a quick connect cap and nipple ; • One 0 . 5- inch sampling port covered by a threaded cap ; • One 2- inch port equipped with a Scully Golden Gallon Gauge® direct readout product level gauge ; • One 0 . 75-inch fill port connected by a 0 . 75- inch poly pipe to the pneumatic pump ; and • Mounting brackets for a pneumatic pump ' . The secondary containment structure was observed to be free of external leaks and was steel plate thickness tested using an ultrasonic thickness gauge equipped with a dual element transducer 2 . The north , east, west , and base steel plates of the secondary containment structure were ultrasonic thickness tested . Access to the south side of the secondary containment structure was limited due to the Facility Maintenance Shop wall being directly adjacent to the south steel plate of the secondary containment structure . ATTACHEMENT B , UTRASONIC THICKNESS GAUGE READINGS contains information regarding the locations of the ultrasonic thickness gauge point readings and the thickness data of each point as recoded from the ultrasonic thickness gauge . Dave Dooley , Steel Products Manager, Containment Solutions , Inc . was contacted and has confirmed the AST and secondary containment structure were manufactured by Containment Solutions®, Inc. , 2600 Pegasus Drive , Bakersfield , CA 93308 . The serial number associated with this SafeWasteTM System , AST and secondary containment structure , is 772021 . The SafeWasteTM System was manufactured in May 2004 and delivered to G & S Truck and Tire , ' The pneumatic pump has been installed in an interior location of the Facility Maintenance Shop, 2 Olympus Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge, Model 45MG , Serial Number 130237710 , Olympus Dual Element 7 . 50 MHz transducer, Model Number D7908, Serial Number 1099854.
