SAMPLE NUMBER DEPTH EPA METHOD 8010
Trip Blank ND
Note: ND-Not Detected at Method Detection Limits. Laboratory report indicated less than(<) Method Detection Limits
Detection Limits-0.5µg/I
µg/I = micrograms per liter or part per billion
Chloroform was found in all five (5) samples in concentrations level ranging from
0.89 microgram per liter (µg/1) in boreholes 135 to 3.3 pg/l in borehole 133. This
range of concentration is below the MCL of 100 pg/l for cholorform based on the
California DHS Drinking Water Standards.
5.4 Data Validation
CRC reviewed the QA/QC data reported by BC Analytical. The information
evaluated included sample holding times, method blanks, matrix spike and surrogate
recoveries, and laboratory control spike recoveries. CRC performed this evaluation
to ascertain that the data reported by the laboratory could be considered accurate and,
therefore, usable for defining the nature and extent of potential contamination at the
site. All QA/QC data appeared to be within acceptable limits and no data were
rejected based on this review.
6.0 SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
6.1 Summary of Findings
• The subject property is underlain by at least 12 feet of silty, inorganic CL
and an undetermined thickness of sandy to gravelly clay (SC).
• Sampling was conducted down to the saturated zone, and no petroleum
hydrocarbon or VOC contamination, stainings or odors were noted in soil
and groundwater samples.
• Groundwater was measured at a depth of 13.25 feet to 14 feet bgs with a
flow gradient to the north-northeast which appears to conform with the
regional trend.
• No VOCs were detected in the soil samples submitted for analysis.
• Of the EPA 8010 analytes, only chloroform was detected in the five (5)
groundwater samples at concentrations which range from 0.89 pg/l to 3.3
pg/1. This range of concentration was below the MCL of 100 µg/l for
chloroform.
CRC Environmental Risk Management, Inc.
