(6) Procedure Area: While wearing protective gloves, the procedure area shall be disinfected again before use with a disinfectant if the area has been used for any activity following its previous disinfection. (7) Tables: While wearing protective gloves, the tables used shall be decontaminated after each use using a disinfectant per manufactures directions, and any waste that is generated shall be discarded. (8) Tattoo Machine and Clip Cord: While wearing protective gloves, a plastic wrap barrier is placed on the tattoo machine, and a disposable clip cord sleeve (cover) is placed on the clip cord. Both are discarded immediately after each use. (9) Reusable Instruments, Calipers, needle tubes. Etc: All reusable instruments calipers and needle tubes are sterilized prior to use, once used they are used they are immediately stored in a liquid disinfectant (madacide), then washed using brushes rinsed and packaged, and ran through the steam autoclave for sterilization. Packages are labeled with the name of instrument, date and initals. (10)Permanent Cosmetic Machine: n/a we currently do not have a permanent cosmetic machine at our facility. B. Reusable Instruments or Disposable: (Ca. health and safety code 119309 and 119315) (1) Needle Tubes: Use all pre-sterilized needle tubes, once used during a procedure the tube is immediately stored in a liquid disinfectant (madacide), then scrubbed ,(washed) using a brush, rinsed and packaged in peal packs, and put through the steam autoclave for sterilization, the packages are labeled with the name of the instrument batch#, date and initials of the operator. A sterilization log is keep above the Autoclave here the operator lists the date, load, contents, operator, time and temperature. Spore tests are ran on the autoclave once a month. (2) Calipers: Use all pre-sterilized calipers, once used during a procedure the tool is immediately stored in a liquid disinfectant (medacide), then scrubbed (washed) using a brush, rinsed and packagedin peal packs, and put through the steam autoclave for sterilization, the packages are labeled with the name of the instrument batch# date and initials of the operator. A sterilization log is keep above the Autoclave, here the operator lists the date, load, contents, operator, time, and temperature. Spore testing is done on the autoclave once a month.
