4. Tattoo Machine Foot Pedal: Immediately prior to procedure, the Tattoo Machine Foot Pedal is <br />cleaned on a metal tray. The circular hub is drenched with cavicide and allowed to sit for three <br />minutes. The entire foot pedal is then wiped down using sani-cloth sanitizing wipes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />5. Tattoo Machine Electrical Power Hub: Immediately prior to procedure, the Tattoo Machine <br />Electrical Power Hub is cleaned on a metal tray. The power hub is drenched with cavicide and <br />allowed to sit for three minutes. The entire power hub is then wiped down using sani -cloth sanitizing <br />wipes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />C. Storage: Describe the storage location and equipment used for the storage of clean and sterilized <br />instrument peel packs to protect the packages from exposure to dust and moisture. <br /> <br />All items used for procedures are kept in a sealed, metal storage container with individual labeled <br />drawers. All disposable procedure items such as needles are kept in a locked container within the <br />sealed metal storage box. All soft items such as tissues, q-tips and sterilized and sealed gauze are <br />kept in sealed glass jars or within the sealed metal storage container. All reusable items such as the <br />tattoo machine body and cords are kept in the sealed storage box and sanitized immediately before <br />and after each procedure. <br /> <br />D. Set Up and Tear Down of Workstation: Describe the procedure for setting up and tearing down <br />the workstation for the following procedures. <br /> <br /> <br />SET UP PROCEDURE <br />- Items are cleaned and disinfected prior to set up. Please see pages 1-3 of this document <br />for procedure in cleaning and disinfection of procedure tools and workstation. <br /> <br />1. Thoroughly wash hands using hot water, soap and hands free towel dispenser in the <br />procedure room. <br />2. Spray rolling tray, procedure bed and artist chair with cavicide, let sit for 3 minutes then <br />wipe down with sani-cloth wipes. <br />3. Open the garbage bag and pull over the tray, covering the entire tray. <br />4. Lay down disposable dental bid, waterproof side up. <br />5. Tape brown bag to the closed portion of the garbage bag that is covering the tray. <br />6. Lay out cotton rounds, qtips, ink cup, gauze pads, unopened needle, and bagged <br />squeeze bottle containing green soap onto dental bib. <br />7. Cover power cord with clip cover, power supply with barrier film, cover tattoo machine <br />body with disposable tattoo barrier film. <br />8. Wrap clip cord and tattoo machine pen cover with disposable tattoo wrap to ensure <br />coverings stay in place. <br />9. Once wrapped the machine will lay on top of a sterilized tray until the start of procedure, <br />where all parts (needle and cord) will be connected.
