Turn the arrow knob on the autoclave handle to the down <br />position. <br />2. Move the handle up and down until the door is closed well. <br />Do not force with strength. <br />3. When initially closing the door, place your hand on the door <br />handle and push lightly. <br />4. When closed close the locking lever at the top. <br />F. Open the door to the graph chart and record the date , time, and initials <br />prior to activating the processing cycle. This is required for each time <br />unit is placed into operation and a load is run. <br />G. To activate the processing cycle, place the key into the switch and turn <br />it to start. The key will automatically return to the start position. Remove <br />the key from the switch and return it to the janitors room immediately. <br />IV. Emergency Stop Button <br />Located near the switch is a RED button for use to stop the cycle in emergency <br />situations only. <br />V. Removal of Sterilized Waste for Compaction/Disposal <br />A. Obtain keys for the unit from the Basement Janitors Room. <br />B. Do not attempt to open door of unit unless the pressure gauge has no <br />reading indicated. Always check the gauge first to make sure it is at <br />"O" (zero). <br />1. Check the graph to assure the load has cooked at the right <br />temperature and for the proper length of time. <br />2. Unlock the padlock and move the chain out of the locked position. <br />Do not remove lock and chain away from the unit. <br />3. Stand away from the unit to allow the safe release of any steam <br />that may be inside and lift the locking latch at the top. <br />4. Turn the arrow knob on the unit handle to the up position. Move <br />the handle up and down until the door releases. <br />5. Open door carefully watching for the possibility of additional <br />steam to escape. Fasten the door open to the hook attached to the <br />wall to prevent the door from closing on you. <br />
