0INFECTION CONTROL PROCEDURES <br /> A. Written procedures for infection control shall be incorporated <br /> into job descriptions and or procedure manuals for all applicable <br /> departments . <br /> 1 . These procedures shall be included in employee orientation <br /> and inservice program for each department. <br /> 2. Procedures shall be reviewed annually by Infection Control <br /> Sub Committee and recommendations as necessary submitted <br /> to the Infection Control Committee . <br /> B. INVESTIGATION, PREVENTION AND CONTROLLING OF INFECTIONS <br /> At each quarterly meeting the sub committee shall review the <br /> following : <br /> 1 . Food handling <br /> 2. Dishwashing <br /> 3. Disposal of enviormental and patient wastes . <br /> 4. Pest Control <br /> 5 . Traffic Control <br /> 6. Visiting rules for high risk area ' s <br /> 7. Sources of air borne infections <br /> 8. Housekeeping and maintenance techniques <br /> 9 . Health status of employees including physieials and <br /> X-rays or tuberculin tests . Employees with communicable <br /> diseases are not being allowed to work. <br /> C. IMPLEMENTATION OF RECOMMENDATIONS AND REVISIONS <br /> 1 . Members of infection control sub committee shall be advised <br /> of recommendations and revisions of infection control <br /> policies , procedures or activities by the infections control <br /> committee . This shall be the responsibility of the Administrator. <br /> Each member of the sub committee shall be responsible for <br /> implementing such recommendations or revisions in their <br /> department . <br /> D. Surveillance and Reporting of Possible Infections <br /> 1 . Each department head shall be responsible for the daily <br /> continous surveillance in their department . Reporting of <br /> incidents or problem area ' s shall be in writing to the <br /> administrator. Action taken shall be noted by the <br /> administrator iri writing. <br /> A <br />
