r <br /> POLICY NUMBER Continued <br /> STOOL <br /> The patient may share a bathroom with others <br /> if he is cooperative. Instruct the patient in <br /> proper handwashing, and provide the patient with an <br /> individual roll of toilet paper. Feces can be <br /> flushed down the toilet. When handling bedpans <br /> containing stool, or when cleaning an incontinent <br /> patient, the staff member should wear disposable <br /> gloves . <br /> DISPOSABLE FOOD SERVICE <br /> Notify Dietary Dept. daily for the need for <br /> disposable tray service. Left over liquids shall <br /> be disposed of by flushing down the toilet in the <br /> patients room. All remaining food, together with <br /> the disposable tray and dishes shall be discarded <br /> into a plastic bag, sealed with tape or tied in <br /> a knot, double bagged in another plastic bag and <br /> sealed in the same manner and the bag marked <br /> "Infectious Waste" . Discard into dumpster. <br /> LINEN <br /> Soiled linen shall be rinsed out in the <br /> Patients bathroom toilet and then placed in a <br /> disolvable plastic bag, tied with self tie, then <br /> placed in red plactic bag marked "Infectious <br /> Waste" . This linen is washed seperately, after <br /> other linen has been washed. <br />
