Document Number: 909 R 5003 <br />GROUP <br />Procedure Rev: 12 Date: 1/22/13 <br />EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES <br />• for unplanned releases, notify supervisor/Shift Manager <br />• Environmental Manager should be notified for technical support and to arrange <br />for disposal <br />• Oil leak from the Lehr drive system, and equipment will be cleaned up in <br />accordance with ENV -KP -001 E, WI 90915005 and will be handled and disposed <br />in accordance to WI 900915001 and ENV -KP -001 B <br />Containers for Hazardous Waste <br />Oily Solids Waste <br />• Appropriate containers for petroleum waste material are black, 55 gallon, DOT <br />approved metal drums, with lid and locking ring <br />• Empty drums are located in the hazardous waste building <br />• A full drum should have approximately 3" of headspace <br />• allows for the addition of dry absorbent to absorb any free product that <br />might come to the surface during storage/transportation <br />• Take care not to place undo pressure on drum as they will go out of round <br />quickly, making it impossible to secure with lid <br />• Label empty drums with a white label before taking out to floor <br />• After placing the drum on the floor, fill in the accumulation date (date you <br />begin to fill drum) <br />• Regulations require a drum to be covered when not being actively filled <br />• A drum with no lid is out of compliance <br />• Each Satellite area is limited to only one 55 gal drum for each type of waste <br />• Call the General Trucker to pick up full drums <br />• General Trucker has key to hazardous waste building <br />• Make sure label is completed <br />• Containers may be left on the floor, for continuous filling of material, no longer <br />than 1 year. <br />Used Oil <br />• The same guidelines for oily solids, except closed, top, metal drums are to be <br />used for used oil <br />H:\profile\My Documents\500 E.
